My First Project of 2015...

has got to be to finish this doily!!!  Over two years in the making is just too long (started in April 2012 so I'm getting dangerously close to three years even!).  Come on, I need one last push to get it completed.  Send me some encouraging vibes please so I can finally finish it and move on to something else.  I'm already feeling excited about what the next large piece is going to be...

The bit of plastic on the ribbon is
my picot gauge.

So, has everyone made a good start to their tatting in 2015? - or other projects of course.

Best wishes,
Frivole

  6. It's not so bad! One of my UnFinished Object (UFO) has nearly 12 years. I started doing it in summer 2003. So if you want, you shoud wait many years to beat the record ;-)
    This doily looks so pretty!

  8. Oh, definitely finish that doily. I can hardly wait to see it completed! I've got a 3- (or maybe 4-) year 'UFO' that needs finishing, too. If you finish yours, that will inspire me to finish mine, right?

  12. Thank you Jane, it's so encouraging to read your comments. I always get worried people will be bored with seeing long-term projects re-appearing. :-)

  13. You can do it! I finished Joanne's doily over three years after starting it, and that was a small doily. Yes, you can do it!

  14. I think you can, I think you can! It's truly so lovely although I'm surprised it's been that much time, it feels like just yesterday when you started.

  18. Make a pledge - to us - not you
To post a picture every week of what you do
You have ten little fairies to help you every day
(They're called your fingers and thumbs, by the way)
They're the best little friends any tatter know
You'll be surprised how fast your doily will grow
Let your fairies play with butterflies every day
But don't let your doily fly away!

(re-entered to put an "s" on "fingers")

  19. I have always been a great starter of projects. Sometimes I have to make a rule that I cannot start anything else until I finish up some. It is always a challenge to keep them all organized too. Hope you are smiling and it makes the task ahead easier.
